I saw students join three clubs, take 16 credit hours, go out almost every. This, unfortunately, can lead to burnout. Familiarize yourself with the campus before things really kick off for the semester. Walk out each day of your schedule until you’ve done the full school week. There’s so much to do and experience that they try to cram it all in their first semester. Walk around One of the best pieces of advice any freshman can hear is straight from the title of this article: Walk your schedule before the first day. When many students get to college they are overwhelmed (and excited) by the freedom. Right now, it's "Who's cool?" and things like that, but, in the end, the hierarchy that matters is your class rank. So my 1 piece of advice: Freshman, you have time.
I want to tell them, "Hey! That's not important." Lastly, understand the social hierarchy of high school is absolutely wrong. To this day, I look at lowerclassmen oddly because so many of them care about "getting lit" and going to parties.
ADVICE TO INCOMING FRESHMEN IN COLLEGE HOW TO
You must know how to use Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Docs. If you have one or two friends, well, that's way better than a whole group you can't relate to. Know Basic Technology Familiarize yourself with technology before beginning your freshman year. Drama and problems with other students are so common, and although it's way easier said than done, you have to ignore it. I had a hard time making friends, and I now realize you aren't in high school to make friends you're there to begin making a name for yourself. My advice for high school freshmen would be to keep your focus on the future-especially if you feel like your high school might not be the best experience, the way I did.
